Neurologist - Movement Disorder Specialist
Dr. Cabassa attended Temple University School of Medicine. He trained as a neurologist at University of Maryland/Shock Trauma/Baltimore VA medical centers. He received additional training in Parkinson disease and Movement Disorders at Beth Israel Medical Center. Dr. Cabassa holds Board Certification in neurology and had a prior appointment as an Assistant Professor of Neurology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
Dr. Cabassa can help manage a wide-range of complex neurological conditions. He diagnoses and treats patients with Parkinson disease, and if present, provides comprehensive care for their related problems, including dizziness/blood pressure problems, poor sleep, memory problems, depression/anxiety and G.I. problems. He also diagnoses and treats patient with tremors or any other abnormal, involuntary movements. He has advanced clinical expertise in dystonia and treatment with botulinum toxin (Botox). Dr. Cabassa also treats with botulinum toxin patients with chronic migraines, and painful and/or disabling limb spasms from stroke, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries and other conditions.
Dr. Cabassa is originally from Ponce, Puerto Rico and is bilingual (Spanish/English). He loves to laugh, play music, dance, and tries to exercise and travel on his spare time. He is a patient advocate and supports local art/music communities.
